WEAU NewsCenter 13, June 27, 2008
WEAU reporter Mary Rinzel and photographer Duane Wolter visited Home for Life® and produced an excellent story about the sanctuary for the June 27 edition of NewsCenter 13 at 10:00. The online video and accompanying transcript of the newscast feature interviews with HFL founder Lisa LaVerdiere and volunteer Holly Thielmann, plus closeup footage and stories about HFL dogs Tiger and Chako, cockatoo Candy, and tortoise Goliath. Dozens of other HFL residents also strut their stuff in the video, which also does an excellent job showing the HFL grounds and facilities and capturing the essence of our services and mission.

St. Paul Pioneer Press, March 18, 2008

Tiger's breed heritage is scientifically unverifiable at this time.
Tiger, one of Home for Life®'s lovable mixed-breed dogs, stumped the DNA sleuths participating in a St. Paul Pioneer Press investigative report to determine the heritage of several mixed-breed dogs from the metro area.
Tiger came to Home for Life® as a puppy from the Animal Welfare League shelter in Chicago, IL. As a result of being starved, Tiger's bones failed to develop properly, leaving him with painful deformity in his hind legs and hips. Tiger will undergo surgery at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Hospital to correct the disability. He was named after Tiger Woods, whose graceful athleticism describes the dog Tiger is destined to become.
Star Tribune, February 18, 2008
Home for Life® made the front page of the Star Tribune's Source section with two companion articles by Hilary Dickinson. One article, entitled "Safe Home for Life," profiled our Angel CareSM program that provides pets with a permanent home if their owners die or are unable to care for them.
In a second article, entitled "Animals Giving Back," Dickinson writes about our outreach programs that allow sanctuary residents to give back to the community.
